OUR VISION

Our vision is of a healthy world, in which both human and animal suffering are significantly decreased, with all life in sustainable balance.

Eating a whole, plant-based diet is one of the most significant factors that will lead us to this harmony.

OUR MUSEUM

Our museum is a traveling exhibit making its way across Chicagoland. It spends each month or two in a different location, making it accessible to more people and helping spread our mission. We are usually set up in an area of a public library and next year we also plan on visiting colleges. Check out our location page to see where we are this month.

15+

LIBRARIES

Over the last 18 months we have moved around Chicagoland and settled in over 15 different libraries. Next year we'll also be visiting colleges!

20+

SPECIAL EVENTS

We pride ourselves on curating the best vegan speakers from all over the nation. These speakers range from plant-based doctors to vegan entrepreneurs, animal and environmental advocates.

750+

FREE VEGAN SNACKS

We offer free vegan snacks and educational literature at almost all of our events: sometimes home-made, sometimes from a favorite restaurant. Our main purpose is to introduce non-vegans to alternatives to meat, dairy and eggs, but all you vegans are equally welcome to partake!

OUR EVENTS

We love hosting events at the National Vegetarian Museum. We regularly invite exceptional guest speakers to talk about vegetarian and vegan topics and we even give food demonstrations,  docent tours and screen the latest vegan documentaries.

Follow us on social media to make sure you don't miss out on an upcoming event at the National Vegetarian Museum.

“As plant-based eating and animal rights take great strides forward in the
Information Age, we need to know where we came from, and the National
Vegetarian Museum is there to provide that knowledge.”
