Story Map Event at Native Foods

A STORY MAP MADE POSSIBLE BY ILLINOIS HUMANITIES WITH ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FROM DEPAUL UNIVERSITY AND NATIVE FOODS

On November 23rd, Native Foods hosted a party to celebrate our country’s first vegetarian museum having created a Veg Story Map!

The event was for our many friends of the Vegetarian Museum; those who have given their time as volunteers or speakers and attendees that have made donations.

Native Foods also treated us to their special Holiday Roast, Sliders, Dessert, Wine and Live Music!

About the Story Map

Many people think of Chicago as the historical center of US meat-production, having heard of its vast Union Stockyards on the South Side and its moniker of "Hog Butcher to the World". However, in our new interactive Story Map – the NVM tells the less-familiar, but equally true, story of the large role we’ve played in bringing vegetarianism and veganism to our country.
